Aloha and E Komo Mai Upcoming Demo Days Kona May 20th Hilo June 17th Congratulations to Devin Hallingstad for landing his 176lb Ahi (Yellowfin Tuna) by kayak! And now he's set another high bar with his 112lb Sailfish (believed to be another record kayak catch) coming in at our March 25th Pelagic Pursuit Torunament. Click the links to see the photos and read more details of his achievement.
Hawaii Kayakers, Kayak Anglers and Kayak Sailors (or hope to be Sailors), We now have free Groups/Forums on Facebook. Go to: And click on the link to check out the latest intense video of the Alenuihaha channel crossing (in small craft advisories) 4/26/12, on the Hobie Tandem Island . Once upon a Hawaiian adventure I was chastised by a land based mammal and first heard the saying "Eh Brah! You stay plenty pupule"! I accepted the label at the time but thought about it over the years and have come to the conclusion that a little bit Akamai (smarts) combined with a little bit Plenty Pupule (crazy) probably makes life a whole lot more enjoyable than some of the more cautious alternatives. Anyway, getting back to business we've now got most of our products listed online and our retail store in Kona gives easy access to our west side (Big Island) residents and we're still offering free delivery to our Hilo side customers. We're also offering super deals and inexpensive delivery statewide on plenty kine kayaks and choke accessories, and many of our accessories can also be shipped (inexpensively) nationwide as well. Our gear can satisfy even the most safety minded sports enthusiast or if you stay a little pupule like me, or God forbid, straying well past the edge into the more dangerous waters, we got the gear that will keep you afloat and, and if there is any justice in the universe, bring you safely back to shore. That is, as long as you're not battling high trades on the wrong side of the island, hooked up to an oversized, seaward bound Marlin. Don't laugh, similar things have happened! We've greatly expanded our inventory, now stocking Stand Up Paddleboards, Catamarans and sailing gear, hang gliding instruction/gear, camping gear, rack systems and active wear, as well as hundreds of kayaks and so many accessories my checkbook gets misty eyed everytime I mention it. We're expanding our Big Island Kayak Club and looking to add new members, whether you're new to the sport, an avid kayaker, or a seasoned veteran. If you're just thinking about getting into kayaking we do have demo gear available for you to try out, get the kayaking experience and meet others, pupule, and not so pupule, at the same time. If you've been missing out on the adventure it's not because it's so hard to find. Check out our Kayak Club and our Kayak Circumnavigation of the Big Island, take a deep breath and give yourself permission to let just a little Plenty Pupule enter into your life! A hui hou (until our next meeting), Kelly Harrison Please note our new hours!! Our Kauai store is open Tues-Sat. 8:30-4:30 In Nawiliwili (Anchor Cove Shops) on the Matson side of the shops 3366 Waapa St #510 Lihue HI 96766
