The Mirage Adventure is the raceboat of the Hobie Fleet. This 16' streamlined rocket will take you anywhere you'd like to go in comfort, style and fast, while at the same time being very stable.

     It's got lots of nicely designed features within easy reach and space to fit in all of your gear. The cockpit also has the most legroom of the Hobie Kayak fleet.

     It comes standard with the Patented Mirage Drive, The Twist and Stow Rudder System, High back seat with lumbar support and fanny pack, a quality two piece paddle with paddle clips, two 8" storage hatches, a large front hatch, rear on deck cargo area, mast step, molded in cup holders, two molded in Rod Holders, dry bag, gear bucket, water bottle and scupper holes compatible with the optional "plug in" kayak cart.

    This complete package weighs only 62 lbs (not counting pedal drive) and can carry up to 450lbs. The 27.5" width and longer waterline give it the ability to go fast and far with less effort than the vast majority of kayak models.

     The 2007 and newer models can be converted to the Adventure Island. It's more expensive (than just purchasing the Adventure Island to start with) and more labor intensive to make the conversion so it's a better idea to get the right kayak to start with if at all possible.

     New on the 2009 models is the more user friendly up/down rudder system which includes a cleat for locking the rudder firmly in place even in heavy weather conditions. Also new for 2009 is the Mirage Drive Snap in locking system making your drive more secure in it's well and easier to clip in in and out of position.
