The Atlas and Gazetteer is filled with awesome detailed information, perfect for hiking, camping or measuring paddling distances if you're thinking about paddling somewhere new. It has topographical info, GPS grids, 4WD roads, trails and is one of my favorite tools when I'm navigating unfamiliar territory.

    I used this map to scout quite a few camping areas and accurately measure distances when I was planning my Big Island Kayak circumnavigation.

    I also use the maps regularly when I'm competing on the mainland in cross country Hang Gliding competitions. I use the map to enter the GPS coordinates of everywhere I think I might end up. Then I turn the map and a ham radio over to my chase driver and put my faith in the idea that with those tools, he'll be able to find me out in the more remote areas, before darkness falls, and with a bit of luck I won't have to make another late night hike out.
