Here on the Big Island, we are seeing a surge of growth in Kayak Fishing. Steve Heusser (http://screamnreelvideos.com/) and Kelly Harrison of P and P Kayaks have teamed together to put on the Yak-Attack (Big Island) series of Kayak Fishing Tournaments. We are currently putting on three of these tournaments each year. Dates will be set in May, August and November. Our next tournament is scheduled for May 31st and June 1st.           There has been an overwhelming interest in people new to kayak fishing and the Kayak Fishing Club was put together to facillitate connections between Big Island Kayak Fishermen. As an incentive to get more of these new kayak fishermen involved in the tournaments, we've made it so the Fishing Club membership dues include a discounted entry into all three annual Yak-Attack Tournaments.

     I appologize to some of our top kayak fishermen that have had the benefit of low numbers of tournament entrants (and an easier time winning) in some of the past Big Island Kayak Fishing Tournaments. Now the competition will be getting tougher and with more new paddlers in the mix, there is a fair chance that one of our newer fishermen may end up hauling in one of our largest catches.

     The great thing about the influx of new fishermen is that we've been able to add more tournaments, better prizes and the manufacturers are showing more interest in sponsorship. Now more potential customers are going to be seeing which manufacturers are supporting the tournaments and which boats are working the best for fishing our Big Island Waters.

     We're inviting all of our Big Island Kayak Fishermen, new paddlers as well as our more experienced fishermen to be a part the Kayak Fishing Club. As you see below, the $99 per year is a great deal if you can make all the tournaments and still a good deal even if you make less than the three events......

Big Island Kayak Fishing Club - Membership Dues $119p/p per year

To be eligible to fish in a tournament, potential Fishing Club members must have their membership paid up, at least a week prior to  the tournament dates. Last minute entries (a week or less prior to the tournament) will have pay the standard entry fees.
