It’s your call. This compact, German-engineered motor is custom designed with two different types of Hobie mounts (Drive Well or Rudder Mount) to slip into your existing Hobie kayak. The entire Evolve Motor kit is so lightweight that the Battery, Motor and Prop combined weigh less than a normal deep cycle battery used in most kayak applications. The Lithium Manganese Battery is extremely safe and so light that it floats. The entire system is completely waterproof when the motor and controls are connected and also when disconnected.
