Eventually with use, your hatch seals (trimlock) may wear out and need to be replaced. If your kayak has been stored out in the sun your hatch itself may become brittle and crack or it may have gotten lost somewhere along the way.

     The seal can be replaced by itself or the hatch kits come complete with the the seal, the hatch, the straps, buckles and rivets that keep it connected to the kayak.

     The large hatch kit (pictured left) fits all the scupper Pros since 1997, and all the other models with a big front hatch, Cabo, Drifter, Caper, and Prowler 15. It doesn't fit the newer Prowler 13 however.  

     The Prowler 13 hatch and the Venus 11 require a special hatch cover. The Venus also takes a neoprene seal which goes on first and then plastic hatch on top.

    If you've got an older Scupper Classic, the hatches are no longer available so unless you're gifted at molding fiberglass, you'll have trouble keeping that big opening covered....
