Our racer backrest is a meduim height back support with a full seat bottom. It works really well for kayak surfing since you can get your body leaning farther in all directions to keep the kayak stable.

     It's built very sturdy, in fact it's guaranteed for life! It's a great bargain for those not needing the higher back support.

     It is a personal preference in how high you want your back support to go. Many people who have back problems or have not yet strengthened their lower back muscles will want to go with a higher back support.

    This racer backrest treated me right on our complete Big Island circumnavigation but maybe that's because my lower back muscles are already toned or possibly because I have a bit of Plenty Pupule in me....
